Mary Satchwell, Ph.D., has lived in Hinsdale since 2012 with her husband and two children, a Hinsdale Central sophomore and a Westview Hills 7th grader.

 

She is an active member of the Maercker PTA and has served on the Maercker District 60 Board of Education since 2017, including as Board President, and has successfully negotiated several teacher contract negotations.

Mary enjoys any opportunity to serve her community and engages actively in various youth development roles including coaching AYSO soccer, serving as a scout leader, and as a lay leader for Youth and Family Ministries at Christ Lutheran Church in Clarendon Hills.

 

In addition to serving on the Maercker School Board, Mary has experience in board service across many community and professional contexts including serving in leadership roles for the Golfview Hills Women's Club, Union Church Preschool, Christ Lutheran Church council, Cub Scouts Pack 10, Scouting America Troop 8G, the Illinois School Psychologists Association, and the Illinois Children's Mental Health Partnership.

 

Dr. Satchwell is a licensed school psychologist and previously worked as a member of the Early Childhood Diagnostic Team in Park Ridge Niles School District 64. She currently teaches graduate courses in school psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

 

Prior to working as a school psychologist, Mary was a special education teacher in Philadelphia earning a Dual Master's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education as part of Teach for America.

 

As time allows, Mary enjoys spending time with family and friends, being active outdoors biking, hiking, swimming, camping, playing soccer or tennis, or cozying up with a book or movie next to her dogs.
